Kiwanian Herman Gatewood, right, presents the Sophomore of the Year Scholarship to Lucas Andersen, son of Mark and Perla Anderson. The scholarship involved a local review, district review and finally selection as one of 19 recipients in Texas-Oklahoma division. In his 2024-25 application, Lucas shared his extracurricular and volunteer activities, as well as his academic and leadership skills. Cleburne Kiwanis meets at 6 p.m. the first and third Tuesday at Asian Buffet.
