The Door County Medical Center Auxiliary (DCMCA) has launched a matching gift challenge to fund scholarships for Door County and Algoma high school graduates pursuing healthcare careers, as well as prior graduates enrolled in healthcare-related programs and Door County Medical Center employees continuing through healthcare education.
Two longtime DCMCA supporters, Tom Pollock and Chris Gritzmacher, will match all donations made by Jan. 15 up to $50,000. Additionally, Patriot Motors will donate $5,000 if $50,000 is reached. Currently, $41,000 has been raised.
DCMCA has been funding scholarships for nearly 70 years, raising more than $1 million. To date, more than 1,000 residents have benefited.
“The generosity of the donors to the Door County Medical Center Auxiliary helped me attend Marquette University to become a physician’s assistant,” PA-C Mollie Petersen said. “I have been practicing at Door County Medical Center since 2011 and I can’t imagine a career more fulfilling.”
