TEXAS (KAUZ) – The Texas Library and Archives Foundation has announced that applications are open for the Martha Wong Scholarship and the Mark Smith–Gloria Meraz Scholarship.
Both scholarships will award a reimbursable grant of $2,000 that may be used for tuition or required textbooks.
The awards are designed to help Texans pursue a future in Texas library and information science graduate programs in the January 2026 semester. Both scholarships are funded by Martha Wong, the chair of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
Those interested in applying can apply here. Applicants must live in Texas or work at a Texas library, in addition to pursuing a position at a Texas library after graduation. The application deadline is Sept. 15, 2025.
Eligible applicants must live in Texas or work in a Texas library and should have the intention of pursuing a professional library position in Texas after obtaining their degree.
