CAMBRIDGE − The Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Cooperative has awarded scholarships to high school seniors.
Receiving Children of Member Scholarships were Caleb Stanberry from Cambridge High School at $1,100, Taylor Sichina from Meadowbrook High School at $1,000, Abby Cox from Philo High School at $900, Jacob Feldner from Shenandoah High School at $800, homeschool student Jesi Fuhriman with $700 and Eliza Jane Morrow from John Glenn High School with $600. These students completed an application and were interviewed by community leaders. They were selected based on their scholastic record, personal achievement, school and community activities and interview skills.
Receiving the Touchstone Energy Achievement Scholarships were Addie Robison from Tri-Valley High School and Eliza Jane Morrow from John Glenn High School. These $750 scholarships are designed to reward students that have committed themselves to the pursuance of a college education despite unique and substantial personal challenges. Applicants must complete an application and provide two letters of recommendation detailing their character and special achievements despite their challenges.
Receiving the GMEC Scholarship in Honor of Jerry Kackley was Parker Wickham of Philo High School and the Mid-East Career Center in Zanesville. This $750 scholarship is awarded to a student that has shown strength in the areas of community service and leadership.
Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Cooperative serves more than 17,000 consumers in Guernsey, Muskingum, Tuscarawas, Morgan, Noble, Harrison, Coshocton, Licking and Perry counties.
