Five area youth have been awarded scholarships totalling $8,500 through SRT.
Students receiving the SRT General Scholarship are Lucas Beeter from Magic City Campus, Tallie Fedje from Bottineau High School, Shaylie Holen of Des Lacs-Burlington High School and Mariah Lovro of TGU Granville High School. Each of the four students received $1,500.
Jamie Thompson, Antler, is recipient of the SRT Technical Scholarship, giving her $2,500 to attend Bismarck State College. Her major will be agriculture industry and agronomy.
Two students from Newburg, Giovanna Zettell and Carmen Lindekugel, will attend the 2024 Foundation for Rural Service Youth Tour, representing SRT in Washington, D.C., over the summer. Zettell and Lindekugel will have the opportunity to learn about the telecommunications industry, tour the city and meet with legislative leaders to discuss their experiences in rural North Dakota.
