The Ashland County Community Foundation (ACCF) is accepting scholarship applications for students seeking financial assistance for their education.
The application window is open until March 15.
In 2024, ACCF awarded 300 scholarships from 202 different funds to graduating high school seniors, continuing college students and nontraditional students, according to a news release. A similar number of scholarships are expected to be available in 2025.
“ACCF has so many generous donors who have created scholarship funds to benefit students with many different interests and life goals,” Lanie Hartge, ACCF’s educational programs director, said. “Some scholarships have very specific requirements, while others are very general. We encourage all students to apply as we have scholarships available for those attending trade schools through graduate programs.”
The scholarships vary widely in their eligibility and selection criteria, and students with a range of academic abilities are encouraged to apply. Most scholarships are for Ashland County students and residents only.
To simplify the application process, ACCF uses an online system with one application form for all opportunities. Depending on the scholarship, candidates may need to answer supplemental questions, write an additional essay or request a letter of recommendation.
Applicants are advised to fill out the online application as completely and thoroughly as possible. Missing or incomplete information may disqualify them from a scholarship opportunity. It is recommended applicants start the process at least two weeks before the March 15 deadline to ensure all requirements are met and applications are processed in a timely manner.
ACCF cannot guarantee that applications submitted March 15 by graduating high school seniors will be processed in time, as transcripts must be uploaded by high school guidance counselors.
