Aspen Skiing Company helps launch new scholarship to support student skiers - The Aspen Times

A new scholarship will help snowsport student-athletes pursue their passions.
The Fisher Davis Britt Memorial Scholarship, named after the son of longtime Aspen Ski Patroller Mike Britt, will provide $7,500 annually for three years to eligible Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club members, according to a press release. It was launched in collaboration between Aspen Skiing Company and the ski and snowboard club.
The scholarship will help fund events, competitions, travel, and more.
“This new scholarship will provide athletes in need with opportunities they would not have otherwise,” AVSC Executive Director Dave Baugh said in the release. “This supports our mission as a club to provide every participating athlete with the best possible training, experiences, and opportunities as they grow within the world of competitive snow sports.”
He added that they are grateful to SkiCo for their support in launching the scholarship.
“We are thrilled to play a role in establishing this new scholarship,” SkiCo CEO Geoff Buchhesiter said in the release. “The partnership among AVS, ASC, and the Britt Family will support deserving young athletes here in the Roaring Fork Valley.”
The ski and snowboard club works to provide all youth in the greater Roaring Fork Valley the opportunity to excel as winter sports athletes, regardless of their financial circumstances, according to the press release.
Scholarship funds are already available for the 2024/25 season.
