Jonesboro, AR — (Contributed) — July 24, 2025 — Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF) announced its summer 2025 scholarship recipients from the counties of Craighead, Clay, Greene, Lawrence, Poinsett, Mississippi, and Randolph.

Through the support of local donors and state funding, ASPSF awarded scholarships to 58 single parents pursuing associate degrees, bachelor’s degrees, and skilled-trade certificates. Among those recipients were 24 from Craighead County.
ASPSF’s flexible scholarship of up to $1,600 helps low- to moderate-income single parents pay for the biggest financial obstacles to obtaining a degree leading to a career with family-supporting wages. The monetary aid is paired with mentoring, financial instruction, and career coaching — the soft skill training that transforms students into sought-after employees.

“As a single parent, this support means more than words can express. It eases the financial burden of pursuing my education while providing for my child, and it brings me one step closer to building a better future for both of us,” said Courtnee Henry, a Craighead County student attending the nursing program at Arkansas State University-Newport. “Thank you for believing in me and investing in my journey. Your generosity inspires me to keep going and to give back in the future.”
The next scholarship cycle will be Aug. 1- Sept. 1, at which time single parents can apply for a fall scholarship here.
