Nate Carmean, the 2025 Conservation Award recipient, and his daughter pose with his award at the Auglaize Soil and Water Conservation District appreciation luncheon
The Auglaize Soil and Water Conservation District (ASWCD) held an appreciation luncheon Wednesday afternoon at the Auglaize County Fairgrounds. 95 people attended the luncheon which celebrated 79 years of conservation of natural resources in Auglaize County. The event consisted of voting for the election of a supervisor and the presentation of the 2025 Conservation Award and three scholarship recipients.
The Board of Supervisor candidates in the election were current Supervisor Lou Brown and Eric Klopfenstein. Brown was re-elected for a three year term beginning Jan. 1, 2026.
The 2025 Conservation Award went to Nate Carmean. He received the award for having multiple wetlands, buffer plantings, tree plantings and a pollinator habitat.
