ATHENS — Kara Schultz has been selected to receive the 22nd annual Dr. Arthur B. King Scholarship Award, Athens attorney and trustee Jonathan P. Foster Jr. announced May 29 at the Athens Area High School Senior Awards Ceremony.
The King Scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving Athens Borough senior upon graduation from the Athens Area School District. It provides funding for college tuition, room and board for up to four years, with a maximum of $25,000 per year. Selection is based on academic qualifications, character, extracurricular involvement, community service, and financial eligibility. Trustees for the fund include Richard Shay, Jonathan P. Foster Sr., and Jonathan P. Foster Jr.
