(Atlantic) The Atlantic Rotary Club presented scholarships during the Senior Recognition event on Wednesday afternoon.
The Rotary Club awarded two $1,000 scholarships to individuals attending a community college, technical school, or vocational school.
The first recipient was Megan Birge, who plans to attend NYCDA to study acting. She hopes to pursue a career in TV production acting.
The second recipient was Kinnick Juhl, who will be attending Iowa Western Community College to study Speech Language Pathology.
A $1,000 scholarship for a student attending a four-year university was awarded to Luke Irlmeier. Luke will attend Iowa State University to study landscape design.
The Rex Moorman Memorial Scholarship was presented to Nissa Molgaard. Nissa plans to begin her studies at Iowa Western Community College and later transfer to Simpson College. She aspires to become an attorney.
The Atlantic Rotary Club also heard presentations from High School Band Director Jarrod O’Donnell, Vocal Music Director Mikayla Stockhaus, Head Coach of Speech and Debate Trisha Koenig, and High School Art Teacher Elizabeth Herrick-Williams on the accomplishments of senior students and the activities taking place in each department.
