Augusta University will serve as the host site for the 2025 Augusta Half Marathon/10K/5K  on Saturday, Feb. 22.
The three races, which are owned, managed and organized by the Augusta Sports Council, will all start and end on Walker Street on the Summerville campus next to the Grover C. Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre. Each course will take runners into the Summerville neighborhood before returning to campus via Taylor Street.
“Augusta University is thrilled to host the 17th annual Augusta Half Marathon on our Summerville Campus,” said AU President Russell T. Keen. “The Augusta Sports Council has done a tremendous job organizing and building it into one of the premier events for area runners. It is an excellent opportunity to share this beautiful campus with the community in a way that promotes healthy lifestyles while raising money for the G.A.M.E.S. Scholarship fund for graduating high school student-athletes in the Augusta community.”
The half marathon will begin at 7:15 a.m., the 10K will take off at 7:25 a.m. and the 5K will begin at 7:45 a.m. There is also a virtual option for all three events, and there will be a Medals for Miles youth fun run for children in kindergarten up through the third grade. Registration is open until Wednesday, Feb. 19.
“Hosting the Augusta Half Marathon/10K/5K allows us to share the beauty of Augusta University’s Summerville Campus while strengthening our community connections,” said Suzanne Tatum, deputy chief of staff and associate vice president for AU’s Office of External Relations.
