AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – An Augusta high school student is among 29 from across Georgia receiving $40,000 scholarships and internship offers from Amazon to pursue undergraduate degrees in computer science or engineering
Amarri Robinson from Augusta’s Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School is the local recipient.
Across the country, more than 400 Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship recipients getting money to pursue degrees in computer science or engineering at colleges of their choice.
They’ll also have paid internship offers at Amazon after their freshman year to gain hands-on, practical work experience with mentorship from Amazon leaders.
Recipients were chosen based on a variety of criteria, including their academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, participation in school and community activities, work experience, future goals, and financial need. Amazon partnered with Scholarship America to review the applications and select the scholars.
