HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – The Austin Bears Softball program celebrated two players that signed Athletic Scholarships.
Claire Wright signed with North Alabama, while Lyndi Perkins signed with Shelton State Community College.
“It’s just a really close bond at UNA so I’m excited to be a part of it, Wright said. “I’m thankful that the coaches are very intelligent when it comes to softball and they can teach me a lot and help me grow as a player and as a team we can grow together and accomplish our goals.”
“I went on the visit and almost immediately was like this is the place for me,” Perkins said. “It’s bittersweet to leave Austin, the place I’ve loved my whole life, but Shelton seems like the right place for me.”
