Amyre Alford, a senior at Bethune-Cookman University, took the stage at the Florida Public Relations Association PR & Comms Summit in August to accept FPRA’s Dr. Bob Davis APR, CPRC Scholarship.
Communications and public relations students across the state vie for one of the association’s two $1,500 essay scholarships. Ms. Alford, from Tampa, is a public relations major at B-CU, and a member of FPRA’s VISION Student Chapter and the Volusia/Flagler Chapter of FPRA.
Professional members of the FPRA-VF Chapter also won awards at the PR & Comms Summit. Lauren Wiseman of Brown & Brown Insurance, chapter president-elect, was a nominee for the FPRA Rising Leader Award. Sasha Staton, immediate past chapter president, earned the President’s Award for Financial Management. Danielle FitzPatrick accepted the Golden Image Judges’ Award and Award of Distinction on behalf of the communications team at the St. Johns River Water Management District. Chris Graham, APR, CPRC, Advent East Florida, chaired the FPRA Golden Image Awards and took the stage to return to the FPRA Executive Committee.
