Eliza Baker
LISBON – Lisbon David Anderson High School senior Eliza Baker has earned a position on a list of the nation’s brightest high school students as a semifinalist for the National Honor Society’s scholarship. Eliza appears on the national list not only for her scholastic achievements but also for her exemplary demonstration of the four pillars of the National Honor Society: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.
Eliza’s achievements, recognitions and awards are prolific as a DAHS student. An accomplished athlete and musician, she has earned all-county honors in volleyball and is a member of the pep band and her church’s pianist. In addition to participating in several clubs such as Health Careers Club, Art Club, Academic Challenge, Key Club and Student Council, Eliza serves the Lisbon community as a volunteer for the Lepper Library’s summer reading program, the Little Blue Devils organization, and McKinley Elementary’s after school reading club. She also represented Columbiana County as the selected student to attend the Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Awards in Columbus earlier this month.
Lisa Baker is David Anderson High School’s NHS advisor and commented, “Eliza not only represents the principles of National Honor Society, but of DAHS as a whole. We want our students to accomplish their goals and feel a connection to our community so when they leave DAHS, they are leaving a well-rounded individual. Eliza embodies that and we are proud to have her represent our school and community amongst students from across the country.”
Eliza has earned a monetary scholarship as a semifinalist. She will pursue a degree in medicine upon her graduation from DAHS this spring.
