BAMBERG, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – For high school students looking at college, scholarships can make a massive difference in their chance to get a higher education.
Now, Bamberg County high school seniors have access to the Meeting Street Scholarship Fund.
The $40,000 scholarship can be applied for by eligible students.
A push to reinstate South Carolina’s private school voucher program has just cleared a major hurdle at the State House.
It’s meant to be more than just a regular scholarship for students.
“We really want the Meeting Street Scholarship Fund not only to be a reward for hard work done but to be an incentive for students to do the hard work it takes to qualify for the award to get into our state’s top colleges. So, we’re thrilled that so many students now know that we’re going to be there for them in four years if they continue to do the hard work, keep their grades up and remain academically eligible,” said John Huber-MacNealy, managing director of the Meeting Street Scholarship Fund.
The scholarship applies to South Carolina colleges with Barnwell and Allendale counties already having access in our viewing area.
