
BARNEGAT-MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Four local teenagers were awarded $8,000 in scholarships from local real estate developers, Walters.
Since establishing its annual scholarship program, Walters has presented close to 50 scholarships amounting to nearly $100,000, the developers said in a news release.
Students receiving Walters 2025 scholarships are:
“We’re proud to recognize these four outstanding students as they take the next step in their educational journeys; we have no doubt that each will be successful,” said Ed Walters Jr., founder and partner at Walters, who was raised in southern Ocean County and graduated from Southern Regional High School. “Our scholarship program is near and dear to our hearts, reflecting our dedication to investing in and strengthening our local communities.”
In addition to its annual scholarship program, Walters has supported a range of organizations and charitable initiatives to support and give back to the communities where it is active. Those have included the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Fullfill Monmouth & Ocean, Habitat for Humanity, Toys for Tots, Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company, and Barnegat and Stafford Girls Softball Leagues, as well as numerous hurricane relief efforts.
