INDEPENDENCE – On June 5th, the Buchanan County Health Center Auxiliary proudly held its annual scholarship presentation at First Presbyterian Church in Independence.
Each year, the BCHC Auxiliary awards $1,200 scholarships to graduating seniors from East Buchanan, Independence, and Jesup school districts, as well as to nontraditional and current college students pursuing careers in human healthcare fields.
This year’s scholarship recipients are:
– Marta Kvigne – Daughter of Jill and Ben Kvigne, Marta is a 2025 graduate of East Buchanan and will attend the University of Northern Iowa to study Health Care Administration.
– Kylie Hardy – Daughter of Sam and Dave Hardy, Kylie is a 2025 graduate of Independence High School and will attend Hawkeye Community College to pursue a degree in Nursing.
– Kendall Earles – Daughter of Cathy and Doug Earles, Kendall is a 2025 graduate of Jesup High School and will attend the University of Northern Iowa to study Nursing and Biology.
– Brittni Gipper – Employed as the Health Information Management Manager at BCHC, Brittni is currently enrolled at Purdue Global, working toward a degree in Health Information Management.
– Olivia Donlea – A Wartburg College graduate in Neuroscience, Olivia is now enrolled in the Occupational Therapy Program at the College of St. Scholastica, pursuing her master’s in Occupational Therapy.
– Grace Bohlken – A University of Iowa graduate in Health and Human Physiology, Grace is now a junior in the Radiation Therapy Program, working toward becoming a Radiation Therapist.
– Morgan Zuck – A receptionist at BCHC Family Medicine – Jesup, Morgan is currently attending Purdue Global to earn a degree in Health Care Administration.
These scholarships are made possible through the generous support of the BCHC Auxiliary’s annual $15 membership dues, fundraisers, and hospital gift shop sales.
