   Every 2025 Belmond-Klemme senior who applied was eligible to receive at least $7,500 in scholarships for education beyond high school. Scholarship night was held May 14.
  Six students received over $9,000 in awards. Here is a rundown of scholarships.
  The Belmond-Klemme Scholarship Foundation increased its award to $5,000 in 2025. This amount is available at the completion of the first semester of education in any accredited program. It is available at any time the student is ready. In fact, this past year, two students who graduated 20 years ago claimed the scholarships promised to them in 2005.
  The Foster and Evelyn Barkema Charitable Trust Scholarship were increased this year to $2,500. Those who applied were Lillyann Aguilera, Shaylee Aguilera, Jose Alfaro, Keyla Arenas, Blake Barkela, Victor Morales-Calles, Toby DeBeer, Derick Diaz, Jacob Ennis, Aiden Friedow, Quinn Gabrielson, Ryder Gansen, Nathanael Gobeli, Nevaeh Hanson, William Hays, John Hernandez, MaryJane Johnson, Cadence King, Caden Kuhlers, Carlee Kuhlers, Caylee Kuhlers, Adasyn Lamb, Andrew McDaniel, Jacob McDaniel, Taylor McVey, Ella Negrete, Makayla O’Donnel-Heifner, Kira Ricke, Julien Rodriguez, Alexandrea Rosendahl, Christian Sandoval, Nathaniel Spencer, Kaydence Tabor, Riley Tempus, Alexis Torales, Jesus Torales and Sydney Vierkant
  Dana M. and Avis B. Howell Scholarship: $1,000 each to Quinn Gabrielson, Caylee Kuhlers, Caden Kuhlers, Carlee Kuhlers and Sydney Vierkant.
  Belmond Lions Club Scholarship: $400 to Lillyann Aguilera.
  Al Mattison Instrumental Music Scholarship: $350 to Nevaeh Hanson.
  Archie Stockseth Scholarship: $600 each to Caylee Kuhlers, Sydney Vierkant, Toby DeBeer and Blake Barkela.
  George F. Heginger Scholarship: $300 each to Aiden Friedow, Julien Rodriguez, Kira Ricke, Andrew McDaniel and Ryder Gansen.
  Belmond Community Service Women Scholarship: $300 each to Lillyann Aguilera and Sydney Vierkant.
  Howard Dominy Educational Trust Scholarship: $2,100 each to Nevaeh Hanson and Derick Diaz.
  Deb Ellingston Obrecht Nursing Scholarship: $200 to Keyla Arenas.
  Dr. Samuel P. Leinbach Scholarship: $350 to Ella Negrete.
  Iowa Hospital Education Research Foundation Scholarship: $2,000 to Ella Negrete.
  Belmond Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship: $500 each to Adasyn Lamb, Taylor McVey, Ella Negrete and Makayla O’Donnel-Heifner.
  Kimberly Soma Scholarship: $1,000 to Ella Negrete.
  Green Belt Bank and Trust Scholarship: $500 to Lillyann Aguilera.
  King Solomon Masonic Lodge Scholarship: $350 to William Hays.
  Luin B. Cox Scholarship: $200 to Nathaniel Spencer.
  American Bar Association Citizenship Award: $200 to Ella Negrete.
  Lucy Standish Newcastle Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarship: $150 to Sydney Vierkant.
  Lee G. and Virginia P. Wachenheim Industrial Technology Scholarship: $300 to Blake Barkela.

  The Coca-Cola Company Scholarship: $200 to Shaylee Aguilera.
  Dean and Christine Schultz Scholarship: $250 each to Jose Alfaro and Jacob McDaniel.
  DeKalb Agricultural Accomplishment Award: Blake Barkela.
