JOHN DAY – The Blue Mountain Hospital District recently announced that Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Makaela Hughet has been awarded the Derek Gray Scholarship through the National Medical Education & Training Center. The hospital notes that only one student is chosen by the organization this year. Through the honor, Hughet will have the cost of tuition to become a Paramedic covered.
BMHD writes, “Makaela is an AEMT and has been serving her community at Blue Mountain Hospital District for over 8 years, and now she’s taking the next step in her career. We are so proud of you, Makaela – this recognition is well deserved!”
