Clara Dean was one of the leading scholarship recipients at Branson High School’s awards night.
Seniors at Branson High School ended their high school educational careers as a multi-millionaire class.
At the Senior Awards Night on Tuesday, May 13, the seniors collectively earned a total of $329,109,474 in scholarships in both local and merit-based scholarship competitions.
“The success of our students is a direct result of their dedication and the strong support system surrounding them,” Branson High School Senior Counselor Dixie Bailey said. “This partnership with our local community and national institutions opens doors to countless opportunities for our graduates, and we couldn’t be more excited for what lies ahead of them.”
The school had worked with VU Scholarships to match students with scholarships they might be eligible to receive and then encouraged and supported the students as they pursued the grants.
In addition to VU’s efforts, local business and organizational leaders and military recruiters attended the awards event to honor students for their accomplishments.
“The generosity of our local donors remains a vital part of making our students’ post-secondary dreams come true,” Bailey said.
The total amount topped last year’s record total of just over $308 million.
