On Wednesday evening, Brenham High School recognized its graduating seniors for their outstanding achievements during the 38th annual scholarship ceremony, organized by the school’s National Honor Society chapter.
The night kicked off honoring the top academic performers valedictorian Aidan Keller and salutatorian Alex Lawhorn. Both received their honor stoles from Principal Michael Watts.
Keller, whose parents are Brandon and Jill Keller, will attend Texas A&M University this fall to study chemical engineering.
Lawhorn, son of Jimmy and Emily Lawhorn, plans to study aerospace engineering at Texas A&M University as well.
Graduation is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Friday, May 30, at Cub Stadium.
The event then celebrated the Class of 2025 as members prepare to take the next steps after graduation, awarding scholarships totaling $111,150 from a variety of local and regional sources, including memorial funds and civic organizations.
Memorial scholarships made up about $44,400 of the total, while civic scholarships contributed roughly $66,750.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of scholarships to many deserving seniors from the Class of 2025.
