Troy High School’s Kali Ayres was selected as this year’s recipient of the annual $3,000 Brian R. Shaner Memorial Scholarship, which may be used for tuition at a professionally accredited four-year college or university. The scholarship was presented at the Troy High School awards ceremony.
Ayres excelled academically during her time at Troy High School, attending honors and AP courses and being the valedictorian of her class. Ayres was a member of the National Honor Society and was chosen for 2024 NTL Volleyball player of the year and 2025 NTL Softball offensive player of the year. Outside of school, her volunteer activities included CHOP, the Adopt-a-Highway program, Lions’ Club gift wrapping, math tutoring, and working at Basketball concession stands.
