BROOKE COUNTY, W.Va. — Isaac Lanigan, a senior at Brooke High School, has been named a semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship competition.
To earn this distinction, Lanigan achieved a high score on the PSAT and demonstrated consistent academic excellence.
Lanigan expressed his excitement about the recognition, saying,
"Absolutely ecstatic," Lanigan said. "I got the award and it makes me excited for the future."
"It really prepared me for the kind of thinking you need to be creative with math and all that stuff."
Lanigan plans to attend a four-year college after graduation, with aspirations to major in physics or engineering.
