BROOKVILLE — More than $87,500 in scholarships and awards were presented to students at Brookville Area High School during the annual awards ceremony.
Guidance counselor Ray Doolittle said, “The afternoon of May 12 was a wonderful celebration of this year’s senior class at Brookville Area High School. There was an outstanding group of seniors who aggressively pursued a wide variety of scholarships, and their diligence paid off for many of them. The awards that the kids received are a testament to their hard work, academic accomplishments, athletic endeavors, and community service.“
Opening the ceremony he said, “As we go through the presentations today, I think it will become apparent to everybody what a phenomenal community we have, because the money that presented, the checks that are awarded, the recognition that is given is being done because we have a community of businesses, corporations and civic organizations that value our students, education, that value those that re-invest in this community. Without those folks this ceremony would not be remotely possible.”
Scholarships and awards presented during the ceremony were:
Throughout the program students winning the awards, as well as “all who contributed” to the scholarships and awards, were congratulated.
“It’s incredible to see the support that this community has for our students,” Doolittle said. “From businesses to civic organizations to private donations to memorial scholarships, the community of Brookville does a wonderful job of supporting our students. We are extremely grateful for their generosity and support.”
