Destiny Gann
Each year the Buckner family awards scholarships to outstanding members of the North Sand Mountain High School graduating class. This year the scholarships have been awarded to Destiny Gann and Branson Bearden.
Destiny was awarded the Buckner Memorial Scholarship and plans to continue her education at Northeast Alabama Community College. She will be pursuing a career in social work. Destiny is the daughter of Matthew and Patricia Gann.
Branson is the recipient of the Buckner Family Farm Scholarship and plans to attend Northeast Alabama Community College. He will be studying for a degree in computer information systems to prepare for a career in cybersecurity. Branson is the son of Thomas II and Jessica Bearden.
The Buckner family presents these scholarships in memory of J. V. And Lillie Buckner who were life-long residents of Flat Rock. The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage students to continue to pursue their educational dreams.
