Buffaloes first to step up with a scholarship offer to 2028 TN QB Deon Barnes – 247Sports
2028 quarterback recruit Deon Barnes has accounted for 26 touchdowns, while throwing just one interception, over nine games at the varsity level with Whites Creek (Tenn.) Comp. The Cobras won six of those contests.
“After starting as a freshman, now, I am just building upon the leadership role,” Barnes told BuffStampede.com. “I’m becoming a better leader, day-by-day, every practice. I am speaking up at practice and getting everybody on the same page.”
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Barnes recently took an unofficial visit to Vanderbilt, and he has drawn early recruiting interest from Boston College, but Colorado was the first program to step up with a scholarship offer to him. The Buffs’ offer came through on Oct. 9.
