JEFFERSON — Six $1,000 scholarships were recently awarded to Adult Career Center Program students at A-Tech, Superintendent Scott Wludyga said.
“These students, who are pursuing careers in construction and skilled trades, were selected for their dedication and commitment to their fields of study,” Wludyga said.
He said the scholarships are designed to support and encourage the next generation of professionals in the construction industry.
“We are incredibly proud of the six students, and excited to see them continue to grow in their chosen fields,” Ohio Technical Career Center Director Chris Coxon said in a press release.
“These scholarships are a way for us to invest in the future of our industry and help young people get the education and experience they need to succeed,” Ashtabula County Builders Association President Amanda Green said.
“This scholarship program is a great example of how local businesses and organizations can make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people, especially in fields that are vital to our community’s grown and prosperity,” Coxon said.
Wludyga said the school is always hearing from businesses in the county about the demand for workers.
“The Builders Assocaitons offers scholarships for both adult and high school students. Individuals can use the scholarship for adult tuition, or to purchase tools,” Wludyga said.
Wludyga said there has been a growth in the interest of adult students in the heating and air conditioning program.
“The scholarship is a helpful tool to connect people with well playing jobs that ware in demand in Ashtabula County,” he said.
