California High School seniors earned more than $1.6 million total to continue their educations.
According to Heather Martin, a California High School counselor, more than $1.2 million was awarded through college-based scholarships to assist them through their next four years of schooling. More than $134,000 was presented by local benefactors, along with nearly $20,000 from private entities to total more than $154,000 in private scholarships.
A total of $282,000 was granted to A+ Program recipients in the 2024 class. According to the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development, students must have a 95 percent attendance record throughout high school, have a grade point average of at least 2.5, perform at least 50 hours of unpaid tutoring or mentoring, abstain from drugs and alcohol, and achieve a proficient or advanced score on the Algebra I end-of-course exam, or have an eligible ACT math score and GPA combination. The Lucy Papen Scholarship, for $200, was presented to Zoey Percival.
The Coach Labuary Scholarship, for $500, was presented to Collin Althoff and Max Blecke-Ferreira.
The CTA Scholarship, for $500, was presented to Myra Silvey and Camryn Wingate.
The Peterman Scholarship for Musical Excellence, for $1,000, was presented to Dillon Wood.
The California Area Chamber of Commerce presented $1,000 scholarships to Cameron Combs, Allison Marsh, Zoey Percival, Isabelle Rohrbach and Macie Trimble.
The Alan R. Irey Memorial Scholarship, for $500, was presented to Penelope Cotten.
Moniteau County 4-H presented $250 scholarships to Collin Althoff, Kinley Higgins and Chase Schlup.
The Travis Butts Memorial Scholarship, for $500, was presented to Will Boyd and Macie Trimble.
The Moniteau County Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship with junior cattlemen presented $1,450 scholarships to Collin Althoff and Chase Schlup.
The Moniteau County Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship, for $1,200, was presented to Cameron Combs, Penelope Cotten and Gavin Porter.
Kelly David Messerli Memorial Scholarship, for $500, was presented to Macie Trimble.
The Edward Kaiser and United Church of Christ Scholarship, for $500, was presented to Macie Trimble.
The Teri Michaelson Memorial Scholarship, for $500, was presented to Camryn Wingate.
The MFA Foundation presented a $2,000 scholarship to Collin Althoff.
Higgins Asphalt Paving Company presented a $1,000 scholarship to Cameron Combs.
Two Bright Flight scholarships, for $1,000 each, were presented to Morgan Campbell and Austin Suen.
Two Bright Flight scholarships, for $3,000 each, were presented to Derek Bolinger and Hunter Moser.
The Billie Lou, Stanley “Deacon” and Doug Berry Memorial Scholarship, for $1,000, was presented to Ella Bailey, and Allison Marsh.
The Hugh E. Williams Scholarship, for $1,000 each, was presented to Collin Althoff, Natalie Asmus, Ella Bailey, Max Blecke-Ferreira, Derek Bolinger, Morgan Campbell, Cameron Combs, Penelope Cotten, Hannah Forsythe, Allison Klein, Zoey Percival, Isabelle Rohrbach, Chase Schlup, Austin Suen and Dillon Wood.

The Cantley Trust Mathematics Award, for $1,000 each, was presented to Natalie Asmus, Ella Bailey, Derek Bolinger and Austin Suen.
The Duretta Mueller Memorial Scholarship, for $1,000 each, was presented to Ella Bailey and Austin Suen.
The Randy Paul Allee Memorial Scholarship, for $1,000, was presented to Alexis Anguiano.
The Joshua Fletcher Memorial Scholarship, totaling $2,000 throughout four years for each recipient, was presented to Will Boyd, Ayden Bryant, Gavin Porter and Emmary Williams.
The Hugh and Vera Hill Scholarship, for $500, was presented to Gavin Porter.
The Class of 1995 Memorial Scholarship, for $500, was presented to Max Blecke-Ferreira.
The Emma Kendrick Scholarship, for $1,000 each, was presented to Isabelle Rohrbach and Austin Suen.
The Masonic Lodge English Scholarship, for $500, was presented to Isabelle Rohrbach.
The Aurora Alumni Foundation Scholarship, for $500 each, was presented to Max Blecke-Ferreira, Penelope Cotten, Kinley Higgins, Paige Morris, Zoey Percival and Austin Suen.
The Lawson Memorial Golf Scholarship, for $250, was presented to Will Boyd.

The College of the Ozarks’ tuition assurance scholarship, for $21,800 annually, was presented to Max Blecke-Ferreira and Samantha Davis.
The University of Missouri-Columbia chancellor’s award scholarship, for $7,200 annually, was presented to Derek Bolinger.
The University of Central Missouri’s red and black scholarship, for $2,500 annually, was presented to Will Boyd.
The Missouri State University academic achievement promise scholarship, for $3,000 annually, was presented to Megan Burnett.
The Ohio University admission promise excellence scholarship and trustee award, for $12,500 annually, was presented to Morgan Campbell.
Northwest Missouri State University gave a $1,500 annual scholarship to Addie Clay.
The University of Missouri-Columbia provost award, for $1,000 annually, was presented to Penelope Cotten.
The University of Kansas Architecture Scholarship, for $18,154 annually, was presented to Hannah Forsythe.
The Central Methodist University awarded a $12,250 annual academic and athletic scholarship to Jackson Hackett.
Columbia College awarded distinction, honors, volleyball and A+ scholarships, totaling $23,500 annually, to Isabella Kincaid.
Lincoln University’s 1890 David Scott Scholarship, for $18,000 annually, was presented to Allison Klein.
The University of Missouri-Kansas City curator scholarship, for $5,000 annually, was presented to Allison Marsh.
The University of Missouri-Kansas City chancellor’s scholarship and pharmacy assurance, totaling $4,500 annually, was presented to Evelyn McGill.
The Missouri State University Board of Governor’s presented a $5,500 annual scholarship to Zoey Percival.
The University of Missouri-Columbia excellence award and N&L Henley Housing scholarship, for $9,500 annually, was presented to Isabelle Rohrbach.
The University of Missouri-Columbia’s provost award, for $1,000 annually, was presented to Myra Silvey.
Washington University’s Wash U Pledge, for $87,644 annually, was presented to Austin Suen.
A Stephens College volleyball scholarship, for $18,000 annually, was presented to Macie Trimble.
The University of Central Missouri’s red and black scholarship, along with a Marching Mules scholarship for wind, brass, and percussion, totaling $2,000 annually, was presented to Camryn Wingate.
Central Christian College of the Bible’s Torch Scholarship, for $11,000, was presented to Dillon Wood.
The Cantley Trust FFA Scholarship, for $1,000, was presented to Chase Schlup, a $750 scholarship was presented to Myra Silvey, a $500 scholarship was presented to Dillon Wood, and $250 scholarships were presented to Penelope Cotten and Allison Klein.
