– Caltrans District 5 is accepting applications for its annual employee scholarship through Thursday, May 15.
The scholarship is open to graduating high school students in the District 5 region, which includes Santa Cruz, San Benito, Monterey, San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.
This year, three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. The funds are raised by Caltrans employees through snack and coffee sales at District 5 offices. The scholarships are intended to support students planning to pursue careers related to transportation.
Eligible fields include engineering, transportation planning, environmental planning, archaeology, land surveying, mechanics, electrical work, and landscape architecture.
The scholarships will be awarded in June. Applications must be postmarked or emailed by May 15. The application form and additional information are available at:
