Camden Fairview High School senior Darre’ll “Juney” Atkins Jr. has earned the Hagan Scholarship.
The Hagan scholarship is an undergraduate scholarship that pays up to $60,000 over eight semesters ($7,500 per semester), including $2,000 to purchase essential items for college. The Hagan scholarship can be used at any traditional four-year not-for-profit accredited college or university located in 49 states and the District of Columbia.
Atkins was a student-athlete at Camden Fairview High School, maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout his entire grade school and high school career. He is a member of Gifted and Talented, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, National Beta Club, FBLA, Key Club, and G.E.N.T.S.
He also serves as a member of Student Council and Vic-President of the Class of 2025. Juney is an AP Scholar, as well as an Arkansas Scholar.
Atkins has been a member, as well as letterman, of CFHS football and basketball teams for three years. His accolades include All Conference 5A South Football (Quarterback) 2023, All State Football (Quarterback) 2024, two-time CFHS Football Most Outstanding Back, All Conference Varsity 4A-7 Basketball 2024, All-Tournament Team Basketball 2024, three-time Academics-All Conference Basketball and Football, Mr. Everything Award for Basketball, and All State Basketball 2025.
Atkins is the son of Darre’ll Atkins Sr. and Andrea “Nikki” Atkins, both of Camden. He plans to continue his academic and football career at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, where he received an additional academic scholarship, as well as an athletic scholarship to continue his football career.
