The Canyon Ski Club is accepting applications for its Imre and Betsy Weil Water Ski Scholarship.
This scholarship, established in honor of Imre Weil, a 50-year member of the Canyon Lake Ski Club, and his wife Betsy, awards $500 to an individual or club in the Western United States. The scholarship, endowed by Imre, aims to support the sport of 3-event water skiing.
At the time of his passing in 2020 at the age of 92, Imre was the current 13 states Western Region record holder of a slalom score of 2.5 buoys at 28 mph at a rope length of 22. In 2019, the Canyon Lake Ski Club presented him with a lifetime achievement award for his years of service, friendship, and dedication to the water skiing community.
Applications for this scholarship are now open. To apply online, click here. The submission deadline is February 28. For more information, email Debra Sacks at [email protected].
