Carolina Children’s Home (CCH), a nonprofit that provides financial services and advocacy to children’s initiatives in South Carolina, has announced its 2025 scholarship and grant awards, totaling $333,000. This annual funding round includes 20 scholarships for local students and 19 grants to nonprofits working on the front lines of child well-being in the Midlands.
Now in its eighth year of funding, CCH has provided more than $1.9 million in grants and scholarships directly benefiting organizations that enhance child and family well-being and students pursuing degrees in fields crucial to children’s welfare.
Two of the local nonprofits receiving funding this year include Healthy Learners and Homeless No More, both recognized for their long-standing commitment to supporting Midlands area children.
“We are deeply grateful to the Carolina Children’s Home for this generous grant to support Healthy Learners students,” said Dillon Chewning, Board Chair of Healthy Learners. “This gift is a powerful investment in the health and academic success of children across the Midlands. It ensures that more students will have access to the medical, dental, and vision care they need to thrive in the classroom and beyond. At Healthy Learners, we believe that no child should be held back by an unmet health need—and thanks to this support, more children will now have the opportunity to reach their full potential.”
“We continue to be grateful for the support of Carolina Children’s Home,” said Lila Anna Sauls, Executive Director of Homeless No More. “Granted funds have been used to serve our community’s most vulnerable children as we have given them a loving, safe, and supportive environment in after-school and camp programs.”
In addition to nonprofit grants, CCH awarded 20 scholarships to Midlands students pursuing degrees in social work, psychology, medicine, nursing, or counseling which are fields critical to addressing the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of children.
“These awards are more than financial support, they’re investments in people and programs working every day to ensure our children have a better tomorrow,” said Jeff Manning, Chair of the CCH Board of Directors. “At CCH, we believe that when we empower those who care for children, whether it’s a future nurse or a dedicated nonprofit, we build a stronger, healthier Midlands community for everyone.”
