Carroll College is taking significant steps to reduce tuition costs for Montana students by introducing the Pell Promise initiative.
HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College is launching new full-tuition scholarships for Montana freshmen, funded by the Roy F. Simperman Foundation.
Starting in fall 2026, six scholarships will be awarded each year — three for Butte Central High School graduates and three for students majoring in math or science.
The new awards, combined with existing merit scholarships, will cover full tuition and fees, helping more Montana students access higher education.
The foundation will also continue supporting the Elsie P. Corette Scholarship Fund and the Roy F. Simperman Math, Science, and Nursing Scholarships, which have already provided over $2.8 million to more than 330 students.
“These scholarships carry forward my father’s deep belief in the transformative power of Catholic education,” said Roy W. Simperman, Jr., trustee of the foundation.
To apply, Butte Central graduates must submit an application for admission, complete Carroll’s scholarship form, and file the FAFSA. Math and science applicants must have a 3.75 GPA, file the FAFSA, and take part in an on-campus interview.
Carroll co-president Dr. Jennifer Glowienka thanked the Simperman family for their ongoing support, while Bishop Austin Vetter said the scholarships will help deserving students “make a difference in their communities and beyond.”
