CASPER, Wyo. — Casper-based company Follum Hydrologic Solutions LLC recently awarded two Wyoming students with the $6,000 Tammy Needham Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship seeks to honor the memory of Tammy Needham by supporting students who are studying STEM or education.
Earning the scholarship this year are Riley Banker of Sundance Secondary School and Powell resident Joanna Yoder, who attends Liberty University.
Needham was a longtime Wyoming educator who developed a statewide reputation for excellence. In her time as a teacher, she helped launch a family math program through which parents could come to schools to engage in math activities with their children. She received a Christa McAuliffe Fellowship in 1997 and the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching in 1999.
The Tammy Needham Memorial Scholarship is available each year to any high school senior or undergraduate student in Wyoming pursuing or planning to pursue a degree in education or a STEM field.
