WASHINGTON CROSSING, PA — Two Central Bucks High School West students have been awarded scholarships by the Upper Makefield Business Association.
Meeting in June at the Washington Crossing Inn, the association awarded scholarships to students from Council Rock High School South, Central Bucks West and Morrisville High School.
“The applicants this year demonstrated exceptional qualities,” remarked James Baldwin, Chair of the UMBA Scholarship Committee. “The individuals who sought the UMBA Scholarships represent the future, and judging by these students, the future appears promising.”
The scholarship winners are:
Riley Smith, a 2024 graduate of Central Bucks High School West, accepts a scholarship from members of the Upper Makefield Business Association.
Harry Barfoot, the president of UMBA, expressed appreciation for the high caliber of student applications received and acknowledged the invaluable contribution of the scholarship committee in selecting the recipients.
UMBA allocates funds for these scholarships through various fundraising initiatives conducted throughout the year, with the Revolutionary Run event on July 4 at the Washington Crossing Historic Park playing a pivotal role in generating essential financial support for the scholarship program on an annual basis.
