A Little Rock Central High School student has been awarded a corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship, the organization said Thursday.
Christian T. Dixon plans to pursue a career in neurosurgery.
Dixon’s scholarship is funded by the National Merit PPG Foundation Community Scholarship.
The PPG Foundation is financed by PPG in Pittsburgh. Scholarships are awarded to students who are residents of selected communities where PPG maintains manufacturing or distribution operations or who are children of PPG employees. PPG operates in more than 70 countries, developing and delivering paints, coatings and materials for customers in construction, consumer products, and industrial and transportation markets.
Nearly all corporate-sponsored Merit Scholar designees of 2024 were announced publicly by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in April.
The award this student was chosen to receive became available after that announcement.
