The Florida Airboat Association and the Kissimmee River Valley Sportsman Association are offering summer camp scholarships to 10 Florida youths, ages 8 to 16. The scholarships will cover the full registration fee for a week-long residential summer camp at either the Everglades Youth Conservation Center in West Palm Beach or the Ocala Outdoor Adventure Camp in Ocala.
The camps focus on outdoor skills, conservation education, and recreational activities such as fishing, wildlife viewing, and safe firearm handling.
The application deadline is April 30, and the selected participants will also be invited to participate in a youth hunt with the Youth Hunting Program of Florida.

If you’re a graduating high school senior or you know one, and you paint, tap dance, play the flugelhorn or write sonnets, the Rainbow Springs Art in Dunnellon gallery may be able to help you pursue your creative passion in college.
The gallery is the only area art gallery sponsoring scholarships for area students who want to study the creative arts in college – visual art, music, dance, writing, theater, or even such things as culinary arts. Two $1,500 scholarships are available.
You’ll need to show you’ve been accepted by a college, have a letter of recommendation from your arts teacher or counselor, and meet some other requirements as listed on the gallery’s website, www.rainbowspringsart.com. Deadline is April 30.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Citrus County will have its inaugural Fishing for Futures Youth Tournament on April 25 and 26 at MacRae’s of Homosassa.
The Captains Dinner will be at 6 p.m. Friday, April 25. The tourney begins Saturday at 6 a.m. and goes until 4 p.m. with weigh-ins closing at 4 p.m.
Registration includes a goodie bucket, fishing pole, T-shirt, pizza party, education stations and games. Take a chance to win a boat. Cash prizes are $100 for first, $50 for second and $25 for third. Smallest fish gets $25.
Entry fee for nonmembers is $35 and for members is $30. Ages 3-15 may compete. All anglers must be accompanied by an adult.

The Friends of the Homosassa Library will hold their annual Spring book sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 10, and Friday, April 11; and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at the library, 4100 S. Grandmarch Ave., the corner of Grandmarch Avenue and Grover Cleveland Boulevard.
On sale will be thousands of paperback and hardcover books, CDs, DVDs, jigsaw puzzles and games. Paperbacks cost 50 cents each, hardcovers cost $2 and $3 each. Teens and children’s books, as well as large print editions of novels in both paperback and hardcover are also available. All proceeds benefit the library.
Young men and women in their junior year of high school are invited to apply for Boys State and Girls State.
Both programs are a weeklong, all-expenses-paid trip to Tallahassee for an intense study of government. College scholarship opportunities will also be available.

Take Stock in Children is pleased to announce that they have been awarded six, four-year tuition scholarships for Citrus County students in the ninth grade who meet the eligibility requirements and have a dream of attending a college or a university in Florida.
The eligibility criteria include meeting the financial requirements, having a reference form completed by a teacher, maintaining good grades and having a good behavior record.
