Charlotte Hornets' Brandon Miller Sets Up $20,000 College Scholarship Program for Young Entrepreneurs – v1019.com

NBA guard Brandon Miller has started a $20,000 program with Campus College to fund associate degrees. The plan will support up to 40 students with online classes, coaching, computers, and web access.
“The path I took was a rare and non-traditional path,” said Miller, according to Sports Illustrated. “With these scholarships, I wanted to provide an opportunity to kids that weren’t as blessed as I was to obtain a degree and have a great start at a future.”
Campus, backed by Shaquille O’Neal and Sam Altman, picks students based on their drive and service to others. Students can study business or tech, with options in AI studies. The two-year online school makes learning fit around work schedules.
“Expanding access to high-quality education is one of the most important challenges of our time,” said Chancellor Tade Oyerinde per qcnews.com.
The web-based format cuts costs: no dorms or meal plans needed. After finishing, students can start careers or switch to schools like NYU or Penn State. The credits transfer smoothly to these bigger universities.
Miller points to Hornets coach Charles Lee as someone who shaped his growth. “Through his experiences as an NBA Coach, he has always given me great advice as a player and young man,” Miller noted.
While healing from a hurt wrist this season, Miller put his time into creating this program. Want to join? Check out millerscholars.campus.edu for details.
