Applications Open for Prestigious Chevening Scholarships for Master’s Study in the UK
London, UK – [Date] – The UK Government’s flagship international scholarship programme, Chevening, is now accepting applications from aspiring leaders across the Arab world and beyond for fully funded master’s degree study in the United Kingdom beginning in autumn 2026.
Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and partner organisations, the Chevening Scholarship offers outstanding individuals the chance to undertake a one-year taught master’s programme at any accredited UK university. With over 57,000 alumni worldwide, the programme equips its scholars with a world-class education, valuable professional networks, and the leadership skills to drive positive change in their home countries.
Chevening provides full financial support, including tuition fees, a monthly stipend, return travel to the UK, arrival and departure allowances, visa costs, and a travel grant for official Chevening events. The award covers full-time taught programmes; research-based courses are not eligible.
To be eligible, applicants must be citizens of a Chevening-eligible country (most Arab nations, excluding Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates), commit to returning to their home country for at least two years after the scholarship ends, hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK upper second-class honours (2:1), have at least two years (2,800 hours) of work experience, and apply to three eligible UK master’s programmes with an unconditional offer from at least one by July 2026. Candidates must also demonstrate English language fluency.
There is no single “typical” Chevening Scholar. The programme seeks talented individuals with the ideas and influence to deliver lasting impact. In this application round, Chevening places greater emphasis on how chosen courses and institutions align with global priority areas such as promoting economic growth, enhancing climate resilience, fostering security and stability, and supporting inclusive development.
Applications must be submitted online via the Chevening application system by 7 October 2025. Applicants are encouraged to prepare compelling personal statements and ensure all required documents are ready before submission. Successful candidates will join an influential global network of alumni, including government ministers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators.
“Chevening isn’t just a scholarship—it’s an investment in exceptional individuals who have the vision and determination to make a difference,” said a Chevening spokesperson. “We encourage anyone with leadership potential, a commitment to positive change, and the academic drive to apply.”
