Two Indian Lake High School seniors were the inaugural recipients of the Chloe Lynn Hodge Memorial Scholarship during the Scholarship Night event Monday evening in the school’s auditorium.
The parents and stepparents of Chloe Lynn Hodge, who passed away following a head-on crash involving an impaired driver Jan. 25, presented the $1,000 scholarships to Seth Thornburgh and Devin Rice.
Chloe, daughter of Breanna (Brady) Baier of Huntsville and Brooks (Mia) Hodge of Bellefontaine, was a junior at Indian Lake High School and was enrolled in the Health Careers Academy at the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center. She had planned to study nursing.
The purpose of the scholarship is to honor Chloe and to provide further educational assistance to students with a desire to help others, stepfather Brady Baier said during the presentation.
Seth plans to attend Hocking College and study fire and emergency services, while Devin intends to study nursing at Muskingum University.
