CHAMPAIGN — One Urbana resident and two from Charleston were selected to receive scholarships as part of the 2025 Young Artist Scholarship program following recent auditions sponsored by The Chorale.
Flutist Grace Coady of Urbana has been awarded the Julie Beyler Memorial Scholarship.
Named to receive partial scholarships are soprano Elaina Sutula and tenor Aiden Caughran, both of Charleston.
The scholarships are awarded to students planning to study music at the university level.
All three will perform at The Chorale’s Young Artist Scholarship concert, titled “Homeward Bound,” set for 3:30 p.m. May 17 at Faith United Methodist Church, 1719 S. Prospect Ave., Champaign.
The Chorale will perform John Rutter’s “Requiem” with six-piece orchestra as well as “The Road Home,” “Homeward Bound” and other songs celebrating home.
