The producers of the Savannah Juneteenth Fine Arts Festival, Chosen For the Arts, have chosen Kennedy Hunter as the winner of the first Miss Savannah Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant, recieving both the crown and the $5,000 scholarship.
Hunter is a 2024 graduate of Savannah Arts Academy and will be attending Georgia Southern University in the fall, where she plans to major in nursing. She is involved in the Savannah Youth Council, Savannah Youth Ambassadors, Future Business Leaders of America, Black Student Union Club, Delta Academy, Delta Gems and the volleyball team.
In her role as Miss Savannah Juneteenth, Hunter aims to empower and educate the community, fostering togetherness and cultural pride, according to a press release.
