The Kiwanis Club of Clarion recently awarded scholarships to two deserving Clarion County high school seniors heading to PennWest Clarion, while also welcoming a new member to its ranks.

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — The Kiwanis Club of Clarion recently held its annual scholarship awards dinner.
Each year, the Club awards two scholarships to students who will attend PennWest Clarion in the following fall. All graduating seniors who attend a Clarion County High School are eligible to apply for the scholarships.
The winners this year are Natalie Durish of Clarion Area High School and Addison Siegel of North Clarion High School.
Natalie will major in Nursing at PennWest. In high school, she was active in volleyball, basketball, track, National Honor Society (Vice President), Student Council, Choir (Treasurer), and Science Olympiad. Her honors include the Principal’s List all four years of high school, first team all-district, and third team all KSAC volleyball. She volunteers at her church, assists with the Clarion Community Thanksgiving Dinner, and helps her neighbors. Her references describe her as intelligent, hardworking, kind, and exemplifying the qualities of a dedicated and driven individual.
Addison plans to major in Business Administration. Her activities at North Clarion include Student Council (President), Academic Decathlon, Soccer (Captain), track and field, and Spark Bible Club. Honors include the Honor Roll, the I Dare You Award, Student of the Week, Academic Decathlon, and the American Legion Award. She volunteers for charity drives, serves as a tutor, and also volunteers for Veterans Memorial cleanup and highway cleanup. Her references describe her as a leader, driven, well-rounded, motivated, dedicated, organized, and hardworking. Addison could not be present due to a previous engagement.
The scholarships are funded through the Kiwanis French Fry sales at the Autumn Leaf Festival and the Annual Rose Sale.
