Jackson Hole High School students, parents, teachers and donors attend Scholarship Night in 2024, when over $1 million in funding was awarded to students.
Teton County high school seniors have been awarded over $1 million in scholarships as they prepare for higher learning.
The Teton County Scholarship Program announced its 2025 winners on Monday at Scholarship Night.
This year, 165 students from across the county applied for 75 scholarships sponsored by donors. About 125 students received scholarships totaling a record-breaking $1,223,043, which is 22% more than last year’s total of $1,001,648.
“The generosity of the community towards our students is exceptional,” Gillian Chapman, superintendent of Teton County School District No. 1, said in a statement. “Every student who participates in the Teton County Scholarship Program has shown tremendous determination and commitment to their education. I’m grateful to all of the donors who recognize and support that hard work.”
The scholarship program is administered by the Fund for Public Education and the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, in partnership with the school district. The program is open to all graduating high school seniors in Teton County, including homeschooled students.
“The Teton County Scholarship Program is not just about funds for college,” outgoing Fund for Public Education Executive Director Jennifer Jellen said. “It’s about building students’ confidence, about creating opportunity, and about fostering connection in our community.”
Jellen expressed gratitude for all the community members that make the program possible. Local donors came together to provide funding for 224 individual awards. Some students received multiple scholarships.
The awards celebrate student achievements in academics, athletics, community service and resilience.
Community Foundation President Laurie Andrews said the cost of college can be a significant barrier for many students.
“We’re proud to help ease that burden,” she said. “Our hope is that these opportunities will open doors and help shape a brighter, more promising future.”
The number of students who receive scholarships and funding continues to grow each year, organizers said.
Students applied from Jackson Hole High School, Summit Innovations School, Mountain Academy of Teton Science Schools, Jackson Hole Community School and Jackson Hole Classical Academy.
