Journalists living in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama and Peru can apply for this opportunity in Spanish.
Climate Tracker, in partnership with FES Transformación, offers 11 scholarships to cover the 16th United Nations Conference on Biodiversity (COP16), to be held in Cali, Colombia, Oct. 21 to Nov. 1.
Selected candidates will receive training on biodiversity, environmental journalism and how to cover climate summits, as well as editorial support.
Six participants will travel to Cali to cover COP16 in person. This group will have their expenses covered during the days of the conference and will publish at least four articles: one before the summit, two during the conference and one after.
The other five journalists will cover the event remotely from their countries of residence and will receive a financial incentive for their work.
The deadline to apply is June 23.
