CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coastal Bend Community Foundation celebrated 264 local students at its annual Scholarship Brunch held Saturday, awarding more than $629,000 in scholarships for the 2025–2026 academic year.
The event recognized students from across the region, with 88 recipients planning to attend institutions within the Coastal Bend, including Coastal Bend College, Del Mar College, Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, and Texas A&M University–Kingsville. Foundation officials say this reflects the positive local impact of continued donor support.

The brunch also gave recipients the opportunity to connect with their scholarship donors in person. In video remarks provided by the foundation, scholarship recipient Braxley Brezina said meeting her donor was a meaningful experience. “It was really nice getting to meet the family and make a connection with them. Moving forward with my education, this scholarship will give me the opportunity to pursue my dreams and get a degree,” Brezina said.
Fellow recipient Emily White noted the importance of the scholarship in managing college expenses. “I will have so many things to pay for… parking pass, sports pass, tuition, fees, books, housing, everything,” she said. “So it [the scholarship] would provide tremendous support in easing the financial stress.”
