Hannah Byers, a student at North Central Missouri College from New Boston, Missouri, has been named a 2025 Coca-Cola Academic Team Silver Scholar. She will receive a $1,250 scholarship in recognition of her academic excellence and leadership.
At North Central Missouri College, Byers is pursuing an associate in arts degree. She is an active member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, serves as an Upward Bound Tutor, and works as an Alexander Front Desk Student Worker.
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation sponsors the Coca-Cola Academic Team program, awarding scholarships to 150 students each year. This includes 50 Gold, 50 Silver, and 50 Bronze Scholars, with nearly $200,000 in scholarships distributed annually. Each scholar is also awarded a commemorative medallion.
“The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation has a long history of providing financial assistance to outstanding students at community colleges,” said Jane Hale Hopkins, President of the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. “We are proud to partner with Phi Theta Kappa to make it possible for more deserving students to achieve their educational goals and support tomorrow’s global community leaders.”
Students selected for the Coca-Cola Academic Team are nominated by their college administrators. Selection criteria include academic achievement, leadership, and involvement in college and community service.
Byers expressed gratitude for the guidance she has received, stating, “I have amazing academic advisors at NCMC. These people have helped me choose my desired career path, and I would not be where I am today without them.”
Coca-Cola Academic Team members will be honored in local and statewide ceremonies. They will also receive international recognition during Phi Theta Kappa’s annual convention, PTK Catalyst, which will take place in Kansas City, Missouri, from April 3 to April 5.
