HOUSTON – KPRC 2 and American Furniture Warehouse are surprising 20 deserving high school seniors with $2,500 scholarships in 2025. All students selected for scholarships have been nominated by their high schools.
Carl Wunsche Senior High School student Colin King is the ninth recipient of the KPRC 2-American Furniture Warehouse Senior Scholarship from the Class of 2025. Carl Wunsche Senior High School is part of the Spring Independent School District.
King is President of his school’s Pre-Law Pathway program where he leads initiatives for students interested in careers revolving around the justice system. He serves as Parliamentarian for his school’s chapter of the National Honor Society and he is the Community Engagement Manager for the Black Student Union at his school.
With more than 150 hours of volunteer work to his credit, King serves as site coordinator for the Wunsche Academy Teaching Community Heroes program. Other volunteer efforts include serving as an election clerk, teaching at a children’s music festival and working at a blood drive.
